Oceanic being at heart, I am passionate by the art of storytelling . I love connecting the dot and come up with new approach to branding and marketing. I enjoy finding ways to make a business strive and give back to the planet. Evangelist for Branson's Capitalism 24902 I can create, design and promote (read buzz the hell out) of web content I can multitask, all of which in three languages.

Try Blue It Is The New Red

The Genesis

Remember the Disney Pixar movie Wall-E? One scene especially got to me. It is the one where over- weighted human beings (which we might become by eating crap all day while stoping all physical activities, as we get more and more involved in the virtual world) are circulating on hoverwheelchair around the city. Everyone is wearing red, all of a sudden an add on the radio shouts ”Try blue it is the new red!” all the billboards are flashing with ”Blue is the new red”. In a few seconds everyone reach to a button on their space-city-suits and the entire town is now wearing blue.

Cool vs. Uncool

The important point here, is how fast products and brands will go from cool to uncool in the coming years. The shelf life of something, including yourself as a leader, influencer or evangelist is going to become drastically shorter as time go by. Myspace was cool now it is not (uncool translates to, in this case, you loose hundreds of millions) then Facebook (not so hot after IPO mess…) was cool, then Twitter,Tumblr., Instagram,Google + now Path and Pinterest. Cool is the holly grail that everyone and every brand want to be for as long as they can.

Keep Your Cool

Everything in this universe is cyclical. Nothing, not even us are forever Kurzweil would probably argue otherwise. The biggest mistake, in my honest opinion,is to try hard to stay cool forever. Constant inovation, while sticking to your core beliefs are ways to keep a certain level of coolness. Most importantly as a brand, it is how much you care about the people that makes you cool. Caring is not a a number thing that you can figure out with google analytics, SEO madness with software packing more and more numbers… caring is not mathematical. Caring, and I know it is going to sound outrageously cheezy, but caring comes from the heart.

And The Winer Is

As a brand or an individual, stay young at heart, care genuinely about your fans, use humor and tact to solve problems. Don’t try…Be cool!

Creating The Illusion

When you want to meet someone, wether your interests are romantic, business or cultural, you put on a show. You throw a lure in the water hoping for the fish to bite. More than anything, this is a sign of insecurity. Insecurity about the real you who might not attract this, or that kind of person. We are grossly underestimating the fact that honesty (about who we are) is by far the easiest way to connect with people that we are supposed to connect with. In most cases, the best relationships always come to life by bringing out your true self when first engaging.

Here is an example from a friend of mine, who just started to put a profile up on an online dating site. He asked me if I would help him out to edit his profile (he is dyslexic) so it looks like he is not a ”complete idiot”. I told him that I wouldn’t do such a thing. I believe he should be honest and humorous (traits that describes him best!) about his rather common affliction. I told him to start by ”Hi my nme is **** I luve heking and troveling”, if it is the right girl for him she will probably start her answer by ”I am not sure about your spelling but I really love hiking and traveling too, let’s hang out!” .

Be yourself stop pretending, creating illusions should be left to magicians.

The State Of The Internet

The State of the Internet
Presented By: OnlineUniversities.com

Hey Fish Go Back To The Sea!

A lot of us want the same thing (success, money, lookin’ swell) yet we can’t all get it. Going through a lot of twitter profile lately, I realized everyone is an entrepreneur. I consider myself one, but I also consider myself a content creator/manager. I sometime lead projects and sometime I am a follower/enabler. I feel it is important we start becoming rational, and realize that we need to find and use our talent to make a change in this world. Homogeneity is not a good thing, we are all different, some of us are leaders some of us are followers, we can’t all be the same thing and want the same thing. This state of mind is in part responsible for impacting negatively our planet.

Take a minute reflecting on it today and ask yourself who am I? a leader or a follower/enabler. Perhaps both? But where can I truly make a difference.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,

it will spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.

My Milkshake Is {Not Always} Better Than Yours

My milkshake will only become better than yours because I make a good one, I tell you a good story about it, I engage you (the audience) about my milkshake, but most importantly I step back to leave you the space to talk about my milkshake.

Learn from the past marketing tactics, bombarding your audience with your milkshake (whatever prod- uct or service you provide) is not engaging! Create a compelling story then step back listen to your audience as they reinvent your story and make it theirs, then only then can you step back in.

New Media Marketing is a great, new, opportunity to get rid of the bad habits. Keep the good ones and reinvent yourself. Your milkshake will be better than mine that’s right !

Now you can pump up the volume!

Thank You Dept. And How To Vaynerchuk Your Company

I had the chance to go listen to Gary Vaynerchuk in Albuquerque,NM while on tour for his new book [1]The Thank You Economy. I listened to him for a while and I have to say I have an immense respect for the guy. Not only because thanks to people like Gary Vee,Seth Godin and many more the business world is becoming a better place, but also for his great insight into the future of business and marketing.

As an old continent influenced Frenchman, I instantly related to the message Gary Vee was conveying. Looking at ways of the past (ways that our grandparents did business) to show how new medias are the perfect plateform to implements and improve these same ole’ ways. In his own words ”The only business that will make it in the future, are the one that truely care about their customers”, following this same philosophy he explained how he started a ”Thank You Dept.” in his own [2]wine business. A great name to describe an ultra proactive customer service/follow up dept. As an example Gary explained that one day he received a huge single order for $50,000 worth of Baccus’ own goodness from a client in Chicago. His Thank You Dept. was on it right away, and found the client on social media platforms. They found out he was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and more specifically the quarterback. They went ahead and acquired on ebay a signed jersey of the quarterback in question and mailed it with a thank you note to the Chicago client. Needless to say he was ecstatic, the client is not only going to order again from Gary but will become one of the best ambassador for Wine library without a doubt.

Thanks to this inspiring story and his new book,I am confident we will start to see Thank You Dept. pooping up all around.

My turn to say: Thank You Gary!

On Navigating

You don’t know if you made the wrong turn until you actually make it. It sounds so evident right now as you read this, but for some obscure reason we usually decide not to drive and stay at home rather than taking the risk to make the wrong turn and get lost. What happens when we stay home? Not much, not much at all.Overtime the ”not much at all” becomes a routine and before you know it, a very fertile ground to grow your own worst fears and limiting beliefs. Step outside, put the keys in the ignition and drive the car to your dream destination. You will most likely make a few wrong turns and get lost. One thing I can guarantee (or your money back!) You will meet interesting people along the

way. In the end it will all turn into very valuable experience and make you become a great navigator.

Adobe Ditching Flash for Mobile Devices

microdocfilmmaker:

I’ve been known to ruffle a few feathers of those who have deeply entrenched their core business based on Adobe Flash technology - and my opinions around Flash driven sites has caught the attention of Livebooks among other companies catering portfolio based websites to visual content creators.

ACDC:The Way To Rock Content!

Lying in bed last night I was trying to figure out how I could explain to a new client how important it is to have a clear architecture to build his “content management” strategy on. I have never been one for acronyms, but in this instance it made sense to come up with one. This, by the way, shook me all night long!

Here it goes:

Aggregate : regroup all relevant content about your product/company in ONE place whether it is tumblr,G+,Facebook,a blog or else. This content  can be  created by you or shared content BUT has to be representative of your product/company philosophy.

Currate : Now you have the content in one place (video, photos, blogposts etc…) organize it so it makes sense. You are telling a story stick to it! Think of it as if you were writing a book, the Epilogue can’t be the intro !

Distribute: now that your content is organized and it follows your storyline it is time to use all the plugins, widgets and tools to have it fly around the net via Facebook,Twitter,Google Plus,Youtube,Vimeo you name it!

Last but not least while you engage your audience and discuss about the content
